Emily on Politics
Emily came home from school with some alarming information about one of our presidential canidates. She told me that Barack Obama has been stealing food from the Mexicans. I asked her how he was doing this and she told me that he is sending people from the FBI to Mexico and they are stealing watermelons. As she told the story she sounded appauled. I asked her who told her this and she said that it was a boy in her class. She then saw Christopher and ran up to him and said, "Obama is stealing food from your people!" She went on to tell us how he hates Mexicans and will keep stealing food if we vote for him. Wow!!! This sheds a whole new light on my political views. I'm glad I have such an informative daughter to keep me up to date on current events!

Off To Trucking School
My mom's boyfriend, Reggie is leaving for a few weeks to go to a trucking school. I made him this cake. I think my new hobby is making cakes with popsicle sticks and laminated clip art. It's kinda fun and it turns out pretty good. The truck is a Hot Wheels and the signs are all homemade from my new signature collection.

Primary Class Costume Party
Tonight I had my semi-annual primary class party. This one was a costume party. Emily was Hannah Montana and Samantha was a countess of darkness.
This is Emily and my mom's boyfriend Reggie.

Happy 9th Birthday Emily
Today was my baby's birthday! We had lots of fun. We started the day by going swimming at the rec center. Then we went out to lunch and to see the movie "Beverly Hills Chihuahua". We then came home and had a pizza party. The top picture is one of Emily with her arm around one of her "imaginary" friends. She really believes in them. Yesterday, she told me that she was so bored and that all of her imaginary friends were at a meeting. They are apparently holding an election in "Imaginary Land". She says that they will be at the meeting until they vote on a new president. I know it sounds strange, but she honestly believes and if you say otherwise she gets very defensive. I called Samantha her "real" friend and she got mad and said that ALL her friends were "real" even the imaginary ones. I hope she grows out of them before puberty, but it's likely she won't. Oh well, at least she has a gigantic imagination! She wanted a "pink poodle in paris" cake. I was at a loss for decorations so I came up with this. She liked it, so that was what mattered.

Special Surprise
My husband came home today with these beautiful flowers and a little note that said, "You Rock!" What an awesome surprise. My husband training is starting to pay off. You can teach an old dog a new trick. Just because flowers are the best flowers a girl can get. It made my heart smile. Thank you, Dennis. You rock too!
