Stadium of Fire

Emily has been waiting for this day for a long time!! Every year at the BYU stadium in Provo they have "The Stadium of Fire". It is a patriotic show with performers, fireworks and more. This year Miley Cyrus was performing and I wanted to take Emily so bad. The tickets sold out in like one second so I had to get them on EBay. Not cheap, but worth every penny. We had such a memorable evening. The M.C. was Glenn Beck. I don't know if you know who he is, but he is awesome!! He is on CNN's Headline News channel. He has his own show and is on M-F in the evening right after Nancy Grace. If you have never watched either one of these shows check them out, they rock! Glenn also just so happens to be LDS and has a very awesome testimony and conversion story. Check it out online. He gave such a great speech. The whole evening was opened with a prayer and it was a humbling and wonderful feeling to be at an event where they offer a prayer. The whole night was wonderful. I missed the boys, but they were off playing with fire and all that fun boy stuff. If you ever get a chance to go, it is so worth it!!
Happy 4th of July

Glenn Beck

They had about six sky divers jump into the stadium. The military rolled out this big flag while Glenn Beck gave a heartfelt patriotic speech. There were military families tributed along with our many troops. There was even live satellite to Baghdad and family members spoke to their troops live and we got to hear from the troops. So many wonderful patriotic moments, I was teary eyed and Glenn Beck said it best when he said that he could feel the Spirit so strong. I could feel it and it was strong and overwhelming.

Military jets flew over head and were follolwed by some cool fireworks. It was so cool!! There were the "Stadium of Fire" dancers. They are young girls from dance schools all over the state and even a couple from other states. They did an amazing performance that represented each and every sport that will be played at this summer's Olympics. It was captivating and just plain RAD!!!

I took Chris to see the Blue Man Group in Vegas for his birthday and it was AWESOME!!!! I was pleased to see them again. Emily loved it and really got into their act. Anyone looking for a great show, This Is It!!! All ages and interests, this show ROCKS!!! The lights became way crazy and all the pictures for the rest of the evening were all wacky so I don't have any more to posts from the evening.

So, the reason we had to go, Miley Cyrus!!! Emily LOVES her!!!! We sing in the car to her all the time. It was so much fun watching Emily sing and dance her heart out. She kept yelling out that she was her biggest fan and even invited her to her birthday party. The finale was awesome!!! The Blue Man Group performed again and it led into the most magnificent firework show I have ever seen. It was not only like 45 minutes long, but the music and pyrotechnic choreography was incredible!!! What a great night and awesome Mother/Daughter memory I will cherish forever!!

Tim McGraw

Last week I went to the Tim McGraw concert. I was really excited when my friend, Teri, asked if I wanted to go. It was her, her sister, and I and it was so much fun. Teri and I never get a chance to do anything without kids. Her sister was awesome to hang out with too. We sang and danced and I even cried. Some of his songs bring back powerful memories. I am so happy we got a chance to do something fun together. We are hoping to plan a weekend get away sometime soon. Thank you so much Teri for a great time. Love you!!!

Happy 10th Birthday

On June 14th, my miracle baby turned 10. When I was just 20 weeks pregnant with him I was diagnosed with an incompetant cervex. There was nothing I could do. He wa already falling out and was in the birth cannal. They put me in the hospital and laid me slightly upside down. They gave me grimm odds and basically had me waiting for him to die. I couldn't move. I had a catheter and pooped in a bowl on the bed. I kept laying there. Week after week I laid like that. One doctor told me that there was no medical reason why i was still pregnant. At 26 weeks pregnant I got an infection and they had to take the baby. Unaware of the outcome I was terrified. The odds were still unbearably grimm. He came into this world weighing just 2 lbs. and was 13 inches long. He was even crying. it was a tiny cry that words cannot describe, but he was breathing!! He was rushed next door to CHOC and we were given hour by hour odds of survival. I felt trapped. I had been immobile for 6 weeks without any movemenht or even leg exercises. I had to learn to walk again. It took time. I had a wheelchair, then a walker, and eventually I could walk (very very slowly at first). Joseph beat all the odds. He came home after being in the hospital for 10 weeks and was 3 lbs. 12 oz. He had to remain on oxygen for a few months, but here he is my miracle. Most of you know that story, but just remembering how precious life and our children are puts things into perspective sometimes. He is one of the three most amazing blessings I have ever received. I love my little Jo Jo. Ten years has flown by. Happy Birthday Baby Boy!!!

Las Vegas

A few weeks ago was, my step daughter, Stephanie's birthday. I was supposed to meet my friend in Vegas for her birthday and decided it may be fun to bring my daughters along too for Stephanie's birthday. My friend couldn't make it so it ended up being Emily, Christine, Stephanie, her friend and me. We had a fun girl trip. I forgot my camera so the only picture I have is this one from the Shark Reef of Emily. She loved it. We shopped, saw a few exhibits, swam, played games and hung out. It was a lot of fun. I have three super fun daughters that I love to hang out with.

Poison

Tonight we had an awesome time at the Poison concert. I took Chris and 3 of his friends. I have loved Poison since high school and was quite pleased to know that Chris really wanted to go. It gave us a perfect opportunity to do a Mother/Son outing. We all wore a bandana (even me). They were all so excited and we sang all the songs on the way to and from the concert.
They all bought themselves T-shirts and Chris this way cool hat!! Camron, Joseph, Lexon, & Chris

Brett Michaels is sooo hot!! He has aged well. My friend Jamie LOVES him and so these pictures are for her. What man looks this good in eye liner? Brett Michaels, that's who!!!

Our favorite "Rock of Love" star on the harmonnica.

What an awesome night with my son and his friends!!!

I am a cool mom!

I was outside with Emily and she said, "You are a cool mom!"
I asked, "You think I'm a cool mom?"
She looked at me like I was retarded and said,
"YES, are you stupid or something?"
What do you say to that?
The funniest part is that she wasn't even joking. She was dead serious. I will take it as a compliment considering some of the lovely things she says when she's mad.
What a sweet girl.

Baby Birds

Emily found a nest full of baby birds in one of our trees. Emily named them of course. She stands on a bucket and watches them for long periods of time only to run in and give us a report. We saw the momma bring worms and we got to watch the babies eat them. She had like three worms in her mouth at once. The blue stuff on the nest is....can you guess?? SILLY STRING!! Ten year old boys are so retarded!!! Joseph "accidently" squirted the nest. I have tried to get it off, but momma doesn't want me too close so, I really hope they don't try to eat it and get sick. What a fun little part of nature we have in our willow tree!!
